From the Principal…
Hello Bluff Creek Families!
There is no school on Monday, January 22, 2018. It is a professional development day for teachers. Bluff Creek continues to work on learning standards, project based learning activities and working to prepare our students for the spring assessments.
We could use your help….
- Volunteers are needed to work with some of our Kindergarten students who are struggling with alphabet and sound recognition. Sara Maves has sent out a link for a sign up genius for volunteers. Here is the link if you feel you have time to work with a Kindergartener for 10-15 minutes. http://www.signupgenius.com/index.cfm?go=w.create1&listid=13907535&owner=22860985
We will have a brief training session.
Ask your second through fifth grade student about:
- IXL is an online math program that provides math practice exercise tailored to the skills of your child. Ask your child about IXL and their code to enter the program for extra practice at home.
Ask your third through fifth grade student about Achieve 3000:
- Achieve 3000 is an online reading program that provides differentiated reading practice using authentic non-fiction reading materials.
Parents of 5 graders:
“Parent Preview” for incoming 6 graders – Thursday, February 1, 2018, 6:00pm at Chaska Middle School West
Please take time to think about how this school year is going for your children. Would a conversation with the classroom teacher help you to understand their strengths and needs? Spring conferences take place on Thursday, February 22 from 3:30-7:30 and Tuesday, February 27 from 3:30-7:30, but you do not need to wait until conferences to make contact with your child’s teachers.
Have a wonderful long weekend!
