From the Principal…

Hello Bluff Creek Families!

Happy February!  As we move into this next month, please take time to check our school calendar on the web site. We have a late start this coming Thursday, February 8. School will begin at 10:40 a.m. for our students. Breakfast will not be served on the late start day.

We have a special visitor coming to Bluff Creek! On Monday, February 5, Bluff Creek will be honored with a visit from Hershal Williams, Medal of Honor Recipient.  He is also the gentleman who will flip the coin at the Super Bowl on Sunday. The opportunity is a result of some of our student’s work with Project Impact: Engaging schools and communities in local and global service. We expect his arrival on Monday, February 5, around 10:30.  He will meet with a group of students supporting Honor Flight and hopes to meet with staff regarding character education. What a remarkable lesson for the children!  They served the world with their hearts and minds and have been answered with a visit from one of our nation’s most honored individuals. Here is a wonderful video clip about our guest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeJ2JHmQsFY

Please take time to think about how this school year is going for your children. Would a conversation with the classroom teacher help you to understand their strengths and needs? Spring conferences take place on Thursday, February 22 from 3:30-7:30 and Tuesday, February 27 from 3:30-7:30, but you do not need to wait until conferences to make contact with your child’s teachers.

Starting Monday, January 29 and continuing through February 9, the new Food Label Contest will be taking place at Bluff Creek.

Have a wonderful weekend!
