From the Principal…

Hello Bluff Creek Families!

February is I Love to Read month and you should see a calendar of reading activities from Mrs. Peralez, our Media Specialist, come home with your child. Next week we celebrate the 100th Day of School on February 15th. On February 14th many grade levels are celebrating Valentine’s Day with activities such as field trips rather than parties, so please check with your child about the plans for that day.

On Thursday, February 15th from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. I will host a Coffee and Conversation with the Principal in our Conference Room.  Jared Van Aalsburg, our Digital Learning coach, will be there to answer parent questions as well.

Influenza at Bluff Creek- Nurse Cindy has sent home to families the Influenza information letter that notifies parents when Influenza may be experienced by students at Bluff Creek in a specific grade level. If you think that your child has the flu, tell your childcare provider and call school. Keep your child home from childcare and school until 24 hours after a fever is gone and your child is healthy enough for routine activities. Please contact your physician if your child has chills, body aches, fever and a headache. Your child may also have a cough, runny or stuffy nose and a sore throat. The illness may last up to 7 days. If you child has been infected, it may take 1 to 4 days (usually 2 days) for symptoms to start. By keeping your child home when they are ill, you are helping to keep our school community healthy.

Have a wonderful weekend!
