From the Principal…

Hello Bluff Creek Families!

I want to begin by thanking our PTO for the work they put into our wonderful Spring Fling event! I also want to congratulate Anna Edlund, our Gifted Services Facilitator, who is a finalist for District 112 Teacher of the Year.  Read more about the Teacher of the Year at

MCA testing in reading begins this coming Monday for our third, fourth and fifth graders. The purpose of the state tests is to provide schools with information on how well our curriculum and instruction prepare students to meet the high state standards. The tests have been modified to provide a snapshot of individual student growth in the years ahead, as well. Parents will receive a report on individual student scores. The district will receive scores in late summer or early September, and we will send them to you in the mail. We won’t be able to report your child’s scores until the state sends them, so we ask for your patience.

During testing parent volunteers will not be permitted in the classroom testing spaces and only parent volunteers assisting with bathroom duty will be permitted in the cluster areas.

Parent Input forms are available in the front office. These input forms are optional and will help our staff as we make class lists for next school year.  Some parents have asked about grade level configurations for next school year. We have started to work on the grade level configurations and the master schedule and should have more news about next year in a few weeks.

Severe weather drill – We had a mandatory severe weather drill this past Thursday 4/12 at 1:45 p.m.  Our BCE students did a great job and we are prepared in case of a severe thunderstorm or tornado. That being said, I hope you enjoy your weekend and that the snowstorm does not come to Chanhassen. Our students are very discouraged that this unusual spring is impacting spring sports!

Have a wonderful weekend!
