From the Principal…

Hello Bluff Creek Families!

It is hard to believe that we are moving into the last two weeks of the school year! Next week we will have our Pride Field Day.  All students at Bluff Creek will participate in field day events on Friday, June 1st.  We can always use parent volunteers. Here is the link for the volunteers. www.SignUpGenius.com/go/10C0D48A5AA2EA2F58-bluff1

Thank you Volunteers! We are very fortunate to have many parent volunteers who help our students, staff and teachers. Next week if you are volunteering, please stop into the office and take a ‘thank you treat’ as a small token of our appreciation.

I would like to extend an extra special thank you to our PTO Co-presidents: Michelle McNallan and Raina Horgan. Through their leadership and the support of the PTO Executive Board members, we enjoy many exciting school events and have many special opportunities.  Thank you so much!

I would like to thank Sara Maves, who coordinates volunteers for special activities here at Bluff Creek. This year Sara recruited and scheduled parents to support a Kindergarten tutoring program which worked with 5-10 students about four days a week. Thank you to this special group of volunteers; Andrea Adams, Melissa Windschitl, Stephanie Klein, Sarah Marek, Katherine DeWall, Lisa Owens, Phil Thompson, Annie Danielson, Holly Tchida, Suzanne Katof, Amisha Pancholi, Heather Harvey and Melissa Grant.

We will be saying thank you and good bye to our two Parent Ambassadors; Suzanne Katof and Stephanie Klein. As their children move on to the middle school, we want to thank them for their efforts to serve as a connection to parents in the Bluff Creek Community.

We are in need of two to four Parent Ambassadors to represent Bluff Creek Elementary during the 2018-2019 school year. If you would like to answer parent questions about our school and share your experiences at Bluff Creek, this might be the volunteer opportunity for you! Please contact me at macdonaldj@district112.org for more information.

Would you like to volunteer next year? We have openings on our Ed Issues Forum team which meets about four times a year on Mondays from 3:20-4:20 p.m. We discuss issues and share information that impact our students, staff and families. If you are interested please contact Jackie Schmidt, my administrative assistant at Schmidtja@district112.org.

We do not have school this coming Monday, May 28th in honor of Memorial Day.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Joan MacDonald
