Hello Bluff Creek Families!
Our third, fourth and fifth grade students have just about completed their MCA Reading tests. Next week third, fourth and fifth grade students will begin MCA Math testing. I would like to thank parents for getting students to school prepared to do their best. The MCA Science test will take place on May 7th for all of our fifth graders.
NWEA MAP Tests- Students in grades K-5 at Bluff Creek will be participating in the NWEA (Northwest Educational Associates) MAP assessments. These achievement assessments will be administered on Chromebooks between April 29th and May 24th.
The kindergarten and first grade assessments are made up of four sessions which are approximately 45 minutes in length. Their classroom teachers will be present to redirect and support them. This assessment measures student achievement in the areas of reading and math. The information from these assessments will be shared with parents at some time in the near future.
Students in second through fifth grade will take the math and reading assessments on two separate days. The information from these tests is one of the many points of data which we collect to evaluate student learning and make decisions for the following school year. Fifth grade student scores are used by the middle schools to make placement decisions as well.
Second grade parents should look for handouts that were sent home with your children today. This information will explain options for third grade. We will also have opportunities for parent questions on these dates:
- Friday, April 26th at 12:00 Noon in the BCE Conference Room
- Monday, April 29th at 3:20 p.m. as part of our Ed Issues Conversation
I wish all families a wonderful long weekend that will hopefully lead us into true spring weather for the months of May and June!
