From the Principal:

Hello Bluff Creek Families,

On Tuesday the voters of the Eastern Carver County School district spoke, and while the results were not what we hoped for, I want to thank those parents who have reached out to our Bluff Creek staff in supportive and positive ways. The outcome of Tuesday’s election will pose significant challenges in the days and weeks ahead, however I want parents to know that our BCE staff will continue to do our best to serve our students with the resources available.

Next week we will continue our efforts to reinforce our community values around citizenship and supporting our U.S. Veterans. We will once again welcome Veterans to have a complimentary “all American” school lunch with us next Monday. Our fourth and fifth grade students will greet our guests and bring them to the lunchroom where they will be introduced and honored.  The “White Table” has been set in the heart of the city.  Many clusters have the book and will read this to students.  Here is a slide share of the book to preview at home: The White Table. Students are also welcome to bring in memorabilia (with family permission) and email Mrs. Best with any Veteran’s Day pictures.

Thank you for the candy! We will have a donated Halloween candy pick up sometime today and the donated candy will be used to prepare military care packages for our active duty service men and women.

Also in conjunction with Veteran’s Day, the Pride Partner Group Flags for Fort Snelling, facilitated by Mrs. Peralez, will be collecting loose change for our service project to help Fort Snelling buy sustainable flags for every grave. Students who are interested in donating change can do so in their classrooms, in the office, or in the Media Center through next Tuesday. Next week Wednesday all of our students will experience a Bakken Museum Minnovation science event. On Thursday, our fourth and fifth graders will attend our STEM Fest which brings community members involved in engineering, science, math and health related fields to our school to share, ignite curiosity and inspire our students.

Tuesday, November 12th -Attention parents of future Kindergarteners! Do you have a child entering Kindergarten during the 2020-2021 school year? There will be a Kindergarten Information event on Tuesday, November 12th from 6:00-7:00 p.m. here at Bluff Creek Elementary.  If you are exploring your Kindergarten options for next school year, this is an event that you may want to attend.

Have a wonderful weekend!
