Buff Creek Elementary PTO’s largest fundraiser of the year is just a couple weeks away! On Friday, April 6th the annual Spring Fling Fundraiser will be held at Bluff Creek Elementary from 6-8:30pm. This event is fun for the entire family and includes: inflatables, carnival games, a DJ, pizza, Rita’s Italian Ice, a cookie & pop walk, professional photo booth and much more! Spring Fling orders are due this Thursday, March 22nd and can be purchased using the order form that was sent home with your child or by visiting the PTO website http://bluffcreekpto.weebly.com/store/c2/spring-fling to purchase online. Spring Fling VIP packets will be sent home with your oldest child the week of April 2nd. We are still in need of donations for the Silent Auction and Kids Raffle! From the Principal… Happy Spring Bluff Creek Families! Spring Break has arrived! Our spring break begins Friday, March 23rd and continues through Sunday April 1st. Students return to school on Monday, April 2nd. When we return from spring break we will enter Spirit Week! This exciting week culminates with our PTO’s Annual Bluff Creek Spring Fling on Friday, April 6th! Spirit Week activities include: Monday is pajama day! Tuesday is wear your favorite team t-shirt day! Wednesday is crazy hair day! Thursday is wear your favorite hat day! Spirit Friday is spring picture day which is completely optional. March 12, 2018 Dear Bluff Creek Families, For nearly a year, administrators in Eastern Carver County Schools have been working on new lockdown procedures. Bluff Creek teachers and staff have been practicing our revised lockdown procedures for the past few weeks. Bluff Creek will now use “lockdown with options.” In the past, we have practiced “hide in place” lockdowns. Multiple law enforcement and safety agencies recommend this more proactive approach. Our new plan gives employees and students the options to hide, run or counter if an intruder enters a school. Rather than only hiding, we want our staff and students to run away from an emerging crisis if it is safe to do so. If not, they should hide and protect their hiding place, while keeping open the options to run or counter. Counter is the last option. It is used to distract, subdue or incapacitate an intruder if there is a direct confrontation and running is not possible. Lockdowns are scary situations to consider and at Bluff...
