I have had the wonderful opportunity to serve Bluff Creek for the last eleven years. I served as a principal in the Mounds View School district prior to coming to the Eastern Carver County Schools. I was a teacher for 16 years, teaching special education, reading and general education.  I loved teaching and served an additional two years working in curriculum and school leadership before becoming a principal. I received my K-12 Principal’s license from the University of Minnesota.  I love helping children learn, grow and succeed. My educational background includes post graduate work in special education, reading and school leadership. I have a passion for teaching students to read and am involved in District 112 reading initiatives.

In addition to my work as principal, I have a wonderful family. I am originally from Western New York and moved to Minnesota 17 years ago. My husband Michael and I have two grown sons who are out of school and working in their chosen careers.  I  enjoyed my years as the parent of young  children and experienced the sporting events, school activities, camping and excitement that children bring to a home.  When not at Bluff Creek, I enjoy travel, golf, cross country skiing, boating and riding my bicycle. I also enjoy spending time with our two rescue dogs; Biscuit and Matthilda.

I am a passionate advocate for public education with an emphasis on personalized learning  and I enjoy working with families to provide their children with the best possible learning opportunities. I hope that you will consider Bluff Creek when selecting educational opportunities for your child

Mrs. Best lives in Eden Prairie with her husband, Joe, three children: Rachel (20), Hannah (18) & Erik (15) along with Azi (cat) and Maggie (dog).
