Principal's Letter 11-13-2020

From the Principal…

Dear Bluff Creek Families,

This week our Bluff Creek school community has experienced rapid and unexpected changes as our school district pivots into distance learning for all of our students. Our students have had a very good in-person learning experience this fall and our goal is to provide a similar positive experience in our distance learning model. We know that this shift is difficult for everyone and although the decision was not made lightly, the data and profound increase in COVID-19 cases and related absences supported this change.

We know that in-person learning is the best way for our students to learn and we have worked collaboratively to develop a daily distance learning plan that will provide the best instruction possible. Here is our schedule for distance learning:

Even as we prepare for this significant shift in how we learn, Bluff Creek has been an incredibly busy place! Our virtual Fall Festival has been a success! Our students have supported our BCE Food Drive, participated in a virtual scavenger hunt, performed an at-home physical challenge, played virtual BINGO, guesstimated how many suckers were in a jar and participated in an old fashion coloring contest. We awarded hundreds of orange fall Paw Pride tickets for ROARing good behavior.

Look for some special projects from Mrs. Edlund and our Garden committee, morning announcements from our Principal and Admin Dean and other fun long-distance activities!

In partnership with our Bluff Creek families, we can do this and do it well!

Warmly,

 Joan MacDonald
