Principal's Letter 1/15/2021

From the Principal…

“Trust in the magic of new beginnings!”

Next Tuesday, January 19th is the start of new beginnings for our K-2 students! Our staff has been busy preparing for in-person learning and we are all excited about the arrival of our youngest learners.

Many of our routines will be the same; drop off and pick up procedures, bus procedures, the breakfast and lunch schedule and of course specialist classes. Our students will be wearing masks, washing and sanitizing their hands frequently, physically distancing from their peers and taking outdoor mask breaks. Many of the routines are the same as they were in the fall.

We will still refrain from hosting parent and volunteer visitors and our office procedures for signing in and signing out students will remain the same.

We would like parents to review expectations for being germ safe and I have included this article on handwashing to help start the discussion with your children:

Please remember that K-2 students have distance learning Wednesdays on Wednesday 1/20 and Wednesday 1/27. After that we return to full five-day weeks beginning on February 1st.

Our students in grades 3-5 will continue distance learning from January 19th-29th. Students in grades 3-5 do not have distance learning on Wednesday 1/20 and Wednesday 1/27. We will return to five-day weeks beginning on February 1st.

Our school staff will spend the first few days with our students reacquainting them with routines and procedures, while addressing the social/ emotional needs associated with moving back into the school routines.

Please remember that we do not have school on Monday, January 18th and Monday January 25th

We are excited about the possibilities that in-person learning will provide for our students. Enjoy the long weekend!
