From the Principal…
Hello Bluff Creek Families!
We made it through this brutally cold week and are ready to move on to the President’s Day weekend! Please remember that there is no school for students and staff on Monday, February 15th in honor of President’s Day.
Parent Techer Conferences are upon us, if you have not signed up for a virtual Parent-Teacher conference, please reach out to your teacher or the front office and we will be happy to help you! Virtual online conferences are safe and allow parents to confer with their child’s teacher from the comfort of home.
Our wonderful PTO and Bluff Creek parents have been very supportive of our school and students as we transitioned back to in-person learning. Donations of snacks, paper towels, tissues and valentines have been very much appreciated. I also need to thank our PTO for stocking our staff lounge with lots of goodies for our entire staff to enjoy!
We are slowly and safely adding activities to our school routines. You will notice that we are having our usual late winter Scholastic Book Fair- but it is virtual. We have a number of virtual programs about art, music and science occurring at different grade levels that previously would have been a field trip or in-person visitor experience. This Friday we will celebrate outstanding ROAR behavior with building-wide “Boogie Breaks” during which every hour student selected music will be played and students and staff will boogie to the music. Prizes will be randomly drawn from the collection of Paw Pride tickets. We will continue to add activities when it is safe to do so. At this time, we are not inviting visitors or volunteers into our school, but we hope to do so sometime later this spring when we can do so safely.
Yearbooks are available for sale. Please look for a paper flier that was sent home with your child and we have more in the office if needed. Here is the information in case that paper flier did not make it home:
Visit ybpay.lifetouch.com; Order Deadline: Feb 28th and the Yearbook ID Code is 1869621.
Looking forward, we will begin preparing for our Reading Iditarod, completing our district health standards before spring break- including Healthy Heart month activities and continuing to celebrate Black History month.
Stay warm and have a great weekend!
