Principal's Letter 4-16-2021

From the Principal…

Greetings Bluff Creek Families!

This week has just flown by for our students and staff! We began the week with our Severe Weather Drill which is part of Minnesota Severe Weather Week. Students and Staff safely went to their severe weather safe spaces.  This week we began our MCA testing for our students in grades 3,4, and 5. Many of Our OLA students joined us and things went smoothly.

The Fun Run challenge has begun!  Our 2021 Spring Fun Run will take place on Friday, April 23rd. Each class of students will have the opportunity to participate in a fun-filled running activity in our gym. Please consider contributing, but whether or not you do sponsor a student, know that our themes this week are about good sportsmanship, grit, determination and celebration of our success.

Still more MCA testing to go! Parents of third, fourth and fifth grade students should note the dates of the MCA testing below.  Next week we will be administering the MCA Math test. It is important that students attend school during testing.  We ask that parents have patience if leaving phone messages during the day; teachers will not be answering phones during actual testing sessions.

Remaining MCA Testing Dates:

MCA Math for Grades 3,4, and 5 April 20th, 21st and 22nd

MCA Science for Grade 5 ONLY- May 4th

As we move through spring, parents have started to ask about grade levels, teachers, and class placement input. From now until Friday, April 30th you can complete a Parent Input form. Please see the information in this newsletter for more information. We are still putting together teacher placements and our intention is to keep our 3-4-5 Family configuration. We are waiting before sending out any information about the 3-4-5 Family  until we are sure of our class configurations across the building.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Warmly,

Joan MacDonald
