Principal's Letter 6-7-2021

Principal’s Letter…

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe that this very unusual school year is coming to an end. I am so grateful for the support our school community and staff have shown during the challenging times created by the pandemic. Our community pulled together and as a result our students have ended this school year with many positive memories. I know that families and our entire staff deserve this summer break. I am so excited about all the possibilities that are in store for Bluff Creek next school year under the leadership of Beth Holm and Jane Best!

Although I am very excited to begin my next adventure as a retired principal, volunteer, traveler and grandma, it is very difficult to say goodbye to a community that has been a big part of my life for the last 16 years.

I feel I am extremely lucky to have worked for such a long period of time in the same community. A community that has welcomed and supported the work of our school and showed great kindness to me personally. Over the last few months I have cherished the kind words and heartfelt sentiments I have received from so many of our Bluff Creek families- they mean so much to me!  I will not be too far away and I will be watching Bluff Creek as it continues to flourish. Please know that my last day at Bluff Creek is June 30th and I plan to have our school prepared for this transition.

It has been an honor getting to know you all and I am going to miss coming here on a daily basis. I am particularly going to miss  all of the amazing children at Bluff Creek- their funny stories, hugs, high fives and celebrations of their success. What other career provides the daily perks of unconditional love from wonderful little humans?

Tuesday, June 8th will bittersweet for me, but I know that the dedicated and talented Bluff Creek staff will continue to provide an outstanding experience for your children. I wish you and your families all the health and happiness possible.

Have a wonderful summer!

Kind regards,

Joan MacDonald
